FAKANAM Green School specializes in curriculum design and has therefore designed most parts of its curriculum in combination with the American and the South African curriculum for pre-school children.
For children aged 4 to 5 years, we’re entering the exciting world of preschool readiness, where imagination meets budding independence and foundational academics. These little minds are curious and full of energy, so the curriculum should balance structure and play with just the right amount of challenge. This age is truly magical—when every cloud can be a dragon and every scribble holds a story. Here’s a preschool curriculum outline that fosters growth across all key areas:
Core Focus Area
- Language & Literacy: Letter recognition, name writing, rhyming words, story sequencing.
- Fine Motor Skills: Scissor cutting, drawing shapes, pencil grip, puzzles.
- Early Numeracy: Counting to 20+, recognizing numbers, simple patterns, shape identification.
- Gross Motor Skills: Jumping, hopping, catching, balancing on beams.
- Emotional & Social Skills: Problem-solving with peers, expressing feelings, classroom routines, empathy.
- Cognitive Skills: Following multi-step directions, attention span building, memory games.
- Environmental Studies: Exploring nature, caring for plants and animals, learning simple eco‑friendly habits like recycling and saving water.
